What is Peak Performance?
Peak Performance is a science of achieving excellence even under extreme conditions of physical or mental pressures.
Initial Scope:
Initially this was confined to athletes, Olympic gold competitors, rowing teams, Formula One drivers, top football league players, air-show extreme flyers, NASA astronauts, Geologists expediting for North or South poles, mountain climbers, fighter pilots etc.
The main focus was on the activities that involved physical agility, where performance had to be delivered in sheer competition with unreasonable time limits as well as with fellow competitors.
The tools are used to engage brain to enhance physical performance and the results achieved have been outstanding throughout the world.
The Shift In Focus: the Corporate World
It is only recent that the focus shifted towards business world, the executives, the top corporate leaders, the decision makers and the executors of business plans.
The question that shifted the focus:
The question raised was: don't the decision makers and business executives need a set of tools to achieve outstanding performance when facing a tough marketing situation, or a hard decision that involves lots of opportunity costs getting in conflict, or where careers of a whole business unit is at stake? Yes, indeed they do.
Handling corporate issues or decision making is not only handling numbers or market reports, it is more of a mental exercise requiring focus, perception, positive attitude while calculating risks, mental strength, being able to control one's thought process for oneself, sound analytical skills for people involved and a deeper wisdom level for oneself as well as the respect for the individuals being affected.
In Pakistan:
We at Oaj e Kamal are the first to introduce the concept of Peak Performance. We are proud to be the pioneers of Peak Performance Strategies in Pakistan for the corporate world of decision making.
